TORONTO: NEW SHOP Status: Standing on their own What: Philadelphia-based brand of hippie chic, Free People opens its first Canadian boutique in Yorkville August 3, with a grand opening event August 2; a second shop at Calgary's Chinook Centre is set to open August 31. MONTREAL: MUSIC FESTIVAL Status: IRL long weekend playlist What: The largest music fest in Canada, Montreal's OSHEAGA Music and Arts Festival takes the stage with three days of outdoor concerts (and summer festival fashion). OTTAWA: SHOPPING Status: Now open for more (female) business What: The four-storey Rideau Street landmark streetwear shop, NRML, just opened a 1,600-square foot boutique, NRML Femme, on the second floor. When: Newly unveiled last week. Where: 184 Rideau St. Buzzworthy notes: A youthful, Byward Market favourite since it opened in 1997, the shop carries over 60 independent labels, plus lines such as Against Nudity, Canada Goose, Toms and Vans.
