Stars always tend to look fabulous at red carpet galas, exclusive parties, even getting a hot dog from a street vendor, if they know they are being watched and photographed.

With the kicking off September 4, how can we look like we belong at the same upscale hotel bars as the Hollywood elite and not like one of the crazed autograph hounds outside the Four Seasons, Sutton Place, Park Hyatt and Hazelton?

Well for one thing, leave the pen and paper at home; and, yes, even the camera, unless you can be really discreet; for another, heed the advice of New York fashion stylist Sandra Graham, who has outfitted Jennifer Lopez, Hilary Swank, Beyonce Knowles, Catherine Zeta-Jones, Reese Witherspoon, and other famous beauties.

"They should wear little dresses and if they can walk in them, stilettos," says Graham, who predicts that Rachel McAdams will wear a little black dress. "If it's cold enough, they should wear some kind of patterned hose. They're going to be big for fall. And I do see little black dresses with bright trenches over the shoulders if it rains."

Graham, who now works for eBay Canada as their "celebrity stylist", says a variety of hot looks can be purchased at a fraction of the cost on the online auction site.

"What I'm doing is taking dresses from eBay and telling people how to get the celebrity look for less money. For example, I have the dress that Anne Hathaway wore to the 2006 Golden Globes, the one-shouldered Marc Jacobs navy dress with sparkles all over it. It was on eBay so I was able to get hold of that," says Graham, who isn't certain it's the exact one Hathaway actually wore but says it's a dead-ringer.

Graham herself is proud of some bargain purchases she made on eBay, including a Yohji Yamamoto long crocheted lace shawl she got for $700 (the seller claimed it retailed for $5000, Graham says) and a vintage gold rope chain with diamond tassels she purchased for $1500 (it was appraised at $3500).

Searching by the designer name or even as specific as "Prada dress" or "Prada black dress" will yield the best results. To receive something before TIFF is over Sept. 13, Graham recommends sorting by "ending soonest" and then the "buy now" items.

She does have some age-appropriate advice as well. "The short dresses, the minis, and the leggings, the teenagers can get away with, and also an evening dress with a leather jacket, which I don't like on a 40–year-old. I think it would work on someone like Tilda Swinton - she can wear anything - but not on Meryl Streep."

Take that into consideration and you might just be rubbing shoulders with the stars, as autograph hounds ask for your picture and autograph.
