Claire Waight Keller probably didn’t intend to evoke France’s history in North Africa, but her spring 2014 collection for Chloé was as much the Sahara as it was the Seine. The models could have been on manoeuvres with the French Foreign Legion instead of walking the runway at Paris’s Lycée venue. The
Tuareg blue in the dresses and skirts were straight out of its former colony of Mali while the ethereal tunics and scarf-hem dresses would not be out of place on a Tunisian corniche. All we needed was a sirocco wind to gently billow the free-flowing and free-spirited looks.
