If anyone has ever wanted to know what it's like to date an Italian mamma's boy,
Dolce & Gabbana's recent--albeit exquisite--Fall 2015 collection
is a pretty good indicator of what your life would be like as second fiddle to his number one woman. The entire production—from the models, including a pregnant Bianca Balti in a very flattering, very D&G maternity dress, to the soundtrack featuring Spice Girls' "Mama"— was a tribute to the mother, the heart of the Italian famiglia. So where do you fit in, you who has fallen for a good Italian boy? Let's take a closer look at the collection to find out.
Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana pay tribute to Italian royalty: the mom.
Here, we see a classic D&G dress inscribed with a phrase that translates to "Mom, you are my queen". From this we can gather that, should you be lucky enough to occupy a place in Giovanni's heart, you can bet that his mother will never be dethroned. Moving on.

There is no love like that of (Italian) boy and his mamma.
Above, we see another beautifully tailored cocktail dress that reads, "For the most beautiful mother in the world". If the message portraying the sanctity of this bond isn't clear enough, the designers have also showcased looks featuring the Madonna and Child, like good Italian Catholic boys.
This look is everything.
Lastly, I present my favourite look of the collection, which, in true D&G fashion, marries the tradition of ultra-luxe craftsmanship with the sex appeal of the Italian bombshell. I like to think of this look as the badass mom picking up her little bambino from daycare. Thus the cycle continues.
