#LFW Spring 2015 Day 2: Designers love the Free Love era

(Image courtesy of Imaxtree.com.)[/caption] If today’s shows were any indication, fashion designers’ most recent obsession with all things ’60s and ’70s will continue to be a strong influence on the trends for the spring/summer 2015 season. At this morning’s Emilia Wickstead show, girls in sophisticated mini dresses, hot pants and chunky white sandals walked the runway to tunes from the Rolling Stones and Steve Winwood. (Image courtesy of Imaxtree.com.)[/caption] House of Holland showed the grittier side of the free love era with a collection inspired by groupies from the ’60s and ’70s—which the show notes described as women who spend their days “stalking hotels in last night’s makeup and arranging outfits for the nightly pilgrimage to a dingy dressing room.” Translated to the catwalk, this looked like head-to-toe paisley and flower motifs in acid brights. Marchesa's first-ever London Fashion Week show was an awe-inspiring collection of bohemian lace and organza gowns adorned with silk flowers.
