So
Girls‘ co-stars Allison Williams and Lena Dunham seemed to have a great time at the Emmys last night… But, um,
both talented, lovely ladies wore Giambattista Valli… with some seriously mixed results. Williams, as per usual, looked fresh and beautiful (although, sure, not risky or exciting) and Dunham looked like a happy, crazed doll (although, sure, her makeup look and
new blond hair was partly to blame.) What is the universe trying to tell us? That no designer is foolproof, regardless of talent? That an actress’ personal style is just as critical as a big name label in the red carpet mix? Or that Dunham, god bless her, is just the kind of woman who feels more comfortable standing out—even if standing out means looking like a sad cupcake, when your talent is the size of a Marie Antoinette wedding cake. I don’t know guys. I’m glad they had a good time, but it just kind of bummed me out. What did you think?
