There are some ways better than others to stand out at your next holiday party. Observe: rocking a killer metallic dress and matching gold heels (good), giving an impromptu toast after downing one too many glasses of eggnog (oddly, not so much). To keep things classy in all areas of your festive holiday partying, we asked New York designer Nanette Lepore to share her top style tips of the season. 1. Take it off. “There’s something super-sexy about a strapless dress because it’s bare but not vulgar. Clavicles are the new cleavage.” 2. Add some height. “This dress looks amazing with studded gold sandals or even tall stretch boots.” 3. Shine on. “When it’s a holiday party, there’s more of an excuse for glitter and shine. Big earrings are really making a comeback.” 4. Make it edgy. “I love sheer woolly tights with an evening dress because they take it a step toward grunge.” 5. Have bubbly in hand. Her festive drink of choice? “Champagne!” READ MORE: Best holiday 2014 style 15 super glam party ready statement necklaces 25 of the prettiest holiday party dresses 5 ways to wear your little black dress for the holidays Your ultimate holiday style dress code
