Meet the 26-year-old English actor.
Jack O’Connell will play Alexander McQueen in an upcoming biopic about the late designer. Here are five things you need to know about the English actor.
He’s tight with Angelina Jolie.
Jolie cast him in her 2014 movie, Unbroken, when he was just 23. O’Connell told ES Magazine that after he signed on, Jolie invited him and his friends and family out to a pub because she “wanted to meet my people.” Jolie speaks equally as highly of O’Connell, telling Entertainment Weekly “he’s fascinating to watch.”
His breakout role was on the British teen drama Skins.
From 2009 to 2010, O’Connell played James Cook, an outgoing but self-destructive teen. You can watch the series on Netflix RN. Try spotting Dev Patel, Nicholas Hoult and Game of Thrones’ Hannah Murray, who all got their start on the show.
Acting wasn’t his first dream.
O’Connell had hoped to play professional soccer. (His maternal grandfather was a former player and helped him land a tryout for a professional team.) But a knee injury at 16 ended that dream. By then, O’Connell was already acting, but, as he told the Telegraph, he was unconvinced he would last in show biz and instead “wanted to join the army when football failed.”
He maybe, might have, perhaps dated Cara Delevingne.
The model and Suicide Squad actress was linked to O’Connell after the two were spotted hanging out in 2014. Although the two never officially confirmed their relationship, O’Connell did skirt around the topic when it came up with the Guardian, saying, “Look, I’m not single.”
He’s kind of a model.
O’Connell was the face of Prada’s Spring 2015 menswear campaign. We bet we’ll be seeing in him some McQueen verrrry soon.
“Martha! You’ve sexted?”
BFFs Martha Stewart and Snoop Dogg (for real, they’re coming out with a cooking show called Martha & Snoop’s Potluck Dinner Party on VH1) joined Anna Kendrick on The Ellen DeGeneres show for a quick round of “Never Have I Ever” and it’s nothing short of awesome.
Awkward topics covered: kinky habits, drunk-dialling your ex, and trouble with the law. Too bad they didn't have any tequila to go with those coerced public confessions.

Miley Cyrus has finally addressed the bling on her ring finger.
Back in January, the pop star posted an Instagram selfie wearing her engagement ring from Liam Hemsworth, causing us all to wonder if the Cyrus-Hemsworth wedding was back on (they had split in 2013) and just when we would receive our invitation.
Yesterday on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Miley confirmed the engagement obliquely, telling Ellen she's told Liam the ring is not entirely her style, but "I wear it because you love me."
That said, we know what Liam can get her for Christmas. Candy. Miley admits that she sometime switches up the diamond for accessories made out of gummies and cotton candy. We feel you.
He had a party. Taylor, Katy and John Mayer were there. Rihanna wasn’t.
On Sunday night, Champagne Papi rang in his 30th birthday by dropping four new tracks on OVO Sound Radio, and hosting a star-studded birthday celebration at Delilah’s restaurant in West Hollywood. A-list celebs like Taylor Swift, Katy Perry and John Mayer attended the fête (hopefully that wasn’t too awk), along with Jamie Foxx, French Montana and Zoë Kravitz. Sadly, there were no RiRi spottings.
Drizzy didn’t seem too bothered...especially when the 6ix God was treated to a signed photo from British singer Sade. (Drake is a longtime fan.)
Drake’s cake however, possibly stole the show, (not just because we are in the middle of a huge Halloween candy craving). The gorgeous three-tiered gateau featured baby pics of him and album artwork for his upcoming Apple Music playlist More Life.
"It really means a lot to me, everybody being here," Drizzy said in an Instagram video taken at the celebration. “The support that you give, night in and night out for the team that's with me every day..."
More life, Drizzy, we wish you all the best.
