Is it true it is not in style to match your clothes anymore? To what extent should your clothes match?

Susan Langdon, executive director of the Toronto Fashion Incubator, knows fashion like the back of her hand -- so it's only natural I turned to her for an answer to your question. Here's her response: "The answer is yes and no. Yes, the hippest look is not to pair your jacket with its matching skirt or pant. A more modern look would be wearing your tailored jacket with a flared jersey skirt from Lida Baday or wearing your tailored pants with a soft cashmere twin-set. But the KEY is that the pieces in your outfit should still COORDINATE in terms of colour, fabric weight, style and proportion. It does not mean that you can wear your blazer with yoga or track pants. "If you’re style-challenged and not sure if something goes together well, then stick to wearing the matching suit. Even though it may not look au courant, at least you know it matches -- which is a much better option than wearing an outfit that doesn’t work."
