Miss Chic
Answer
Miss Chic
I am 5'2, 130 lbs (not skinny at all, but not completely over weight, just a little extra meat here and there, like at my hips, I have large thighs and guess I am a little curvy). I have medium-dark skin colour (hispanic) and don't know what colours best suit me. I would love to wear dresses and skirts for spring and summer, but since gaining 10 lbs I've stayed away. Please help!
To answer this question I went straight my favourite stylist Leila Bani, who has worked with the cast of Canada's Next Top Model Cycle One. Here are her suggestions!
Please don't stay away from dresses and skirts, life is too short! (And summer is too hot.) A flirty summer dress with the waistline at your natural waist and a slight A-line hem above the knee can be bigger thighs best friend. Go for the same idea with a skirt. It will look fun, flirty and the fit won't accentuate your problem areas. As for colours, avoid anything that is too similar to your skin tone. If you have olive undertones avoid acidic green and beige-y yellows. And please don't forget to have some fun! Darker skin tones look beautifully striking in most colours -- enjoy!
