Brunettes are hot this spring and summer -- whether you're a light brunette or a deep shade, your hair rocks this season! To get a more edgy look, I headed to my hair guru, Daniel Naumovski at Taz Hair Salon in Toronto. Taz prides itself on creating signature colours that encompass the entire spectrum. Skin tone, eye colour and eyebrows all play a huge part in determining the shade and placement of today's colours. We find brunette tones over time tend to lose their luster. With today's layering techniques, one solid tone can leave the hair looking one-dimensional. A popular solution to this problem is to only highlight the interior of the hairstyle using a tone not far off the base tone, for example chestnut, saddle leather, or terra cotta. This allows us to highlight a soft signature into the hair that leaves the client feeling custom designed. This also results in virtually maintenance-free colour. Any regrowth will only occur inside the style making it invisable. Plus it will look a little edgy, without being over the top or flashy.
