I have round eyes with large eyelids. How do I make them look more piercing and slender?

For this makeup question, I went to my friend Annesley Broadhead, the National Makeup Artist for CARGO cosmetics. Here's what she suggested:

If you want to make your eyes look more almond shaped there are a few great little tricks that you can use with eye shadow and liner. Always begin your eyes with an all over base shadow in a soft vanilla shade. This will brighten and enhance your eyes. CARGO's Eye Shadow in Windsor is perfect. Then use a darker (charcoal, chocolate brown, eggplant) shade of eye shadow along the length of your upper lash line and blend it up onto your lid and a little into your crease. This will minimize the fullness of your eyelids and make your eyelids appear smaller. Add a bit of definition at the outer corners by blending the same dark shadow into the outer corner of your eye in a "vee" shape and blend into your crease. Line your upper lash line with an eye pencil beginning at the inner corner and ending just past the outer corner of your eye. The CARGO Eye Pencil in Black or Brown is great because it has a smooth but longwearing texture. If you want you can also line your lower lash line, just make sure to smudge it out so it looks soft and smoky. Apply a touch of highlighter under your brows and on the inner corner to lift your eyes. Try CARGO's EyeLighter which has two shades of shadow in a convenient easy to use pen format. Finish off with black mascara on the top lashes and concentrate the majority of the mascara towards the outer lashes to give length to your eyes.
