My skin gets really dehydrated come summertime. What should I change in my routine to add moisture to my skin?

While we all love the summer months for the sunshine, it can sometimes mean havoc for your skin. We asked Holly Sherrard, Education Manager at The International Dermal Institute® for her advice.

The sun can cause a condition called retention hyperkeratosis which simply means holding onto too many skin cells.  Minimize this condition with daily use of a rice-based exfoliant and the benefits of removing the dead cells will reveal heathier skin underneath.  Use a treatment moisturizer enriched with Panthenol, Hyalyronic acid and phospholipids to increase hydration and avoid SD alcohol and artificial fragrances which can lead to dehydration.  Don't forget to protect your skin with daylight defense of at least SPF15 and reapply often.  The old cliché "a little is good, more must be better" holds true when applying SPF.
