The “Project 1127” scarf is made from cotton, silk and recycled-saris. When you buy the scarf directly from Laura Siegel, 50 percent of the revenue from the sale goes to the artisans and tailors, 25 percent goes to NGO Sreepur Village, which supports victims of Rana Plaza, and 25 percent covers overhead costs ($135, at laurasiegelcollection.com).
