The Vaccines have been forced to pull out of shows in North America, Europe and Japan.

The ‘If you Wanna’ group have had to cancel the concerts because of singer Justin Young’s continuing problems with his vocal chords, which are forcing him to undergo his third throat operation within a year.

In a statement he said: “Unfortunately, the Doctor has now confirmed that, this week, he will be operating on my throat for a third time this year. In a bid to allow my throat to recover and rehabilitate completely, we will resume with our touring commitments in Paris on October 26th before supporting our friends Arctic Monkeys here in the UK.

“This allows me to have eight weeks of the best vocal therapy available, allowing the best possible chance of complete recovery.”

The group played triumphant gigs at the Reading and Leeds festivals in the UK this past weekend, and while their statement said they are having “the best year of our lives”, it also noted their present situation “f***ing sucks”.

Talking about his vocal problems on BBC Breakfast last week, Justin said: “I’ve actually got problems with my vocal chords and I’ve actually had two operations, which has been the only downside of an otherwise great year.

“We don’t like pulling out of shows. We’ve just been playing everywhere. We think we’ve had about the busiest schedule of any band.”
