Snow Patrol and Kasabian will headline this year’s T in the Park festival.
The pair will join reformed band The Stone Roses to head the bill at the annual music event at the Balado Airfield in Kinross, Scotland, on the weekend of July 6-8, 2012.
Kasabian will close the festival on Sunday July 8, supported by Elbow and Chase and Status – and the ‘Fire’ rockers ”can’t wait” to return to the spectacle.
They said: ”It’s an honour that we’ve been invited back to play T in the Park. It’s always been one of our favourite UK festivals and after having such a blast in 2010, we can’t wait to do it all over again.”
Tinie Tempah and Florence + The Machine will support Snow Patrol on the opening night of the event, as well as New Order, who will perform at the spectacle for the first time since 2005 after reuniting.
Frontman Bernard Sumner explained: ”It’s been seven years since we played in Scotland, up at ‘T’, and we had a brilliant time. It was as much of a surprise to us as it was to our fans when Brandon from The Killers joined us onstage for Crystal, so it’s gonna be hard to top that one, but we’ll do our best to make sure it’s another memorable night for everyone. See you all soon.”
David Guetta, Example, Calvin Harris, Happy Mondays, Emeli Sande and Professor Green are also set to perform at T in the Park, as well as Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds and Jessie J, who will support The Stone Roses on Saturday July 7.
Tickets for T in the Park will go on sale at 9am on Wednesday (29.02.12).
