Lady Gaga fans queued for up to two days in New York to meet her.

Over 500 of the ‘Hair’ singer’s so-called ‘Little Monsters’ camped out in order tell the star how she had affected their lives at an album signing to mark the release of her third record, ‘Born This Way’ on Monday night (23.05.11).

Many of the star’s fans had come from far corners of the US to meet their idol and were full of praise for the tracks they have so far heard from the record.

One fan, Stephanie Currie, described the title track ‘Born This Way’ as “the anthem of our generation and many generations to come.”

Meanwhile Stephanie Picher said she had been helped through a period of depression by Gaga’s music. She told MTV.com: “I honestly believe that Lady Gaga has changed my life and ultimately saved my life.”

Gaga later appeared in a leather outfit, she told the crowd: “I just wanted to thank you guys for coming today! And I can’t wait to kiss every single one of you.”

She then proceeded to pose for photos and sign autographs for each of the fans who had waited for her.

Meanwhile, a one-day sale on music retailer Amazon.com in the US – which offered ‘Born This Way’ for $0.99 – crashed the site, leaving many fans angry and disappointed.

Despite this setback, early indicators are that the album will top the charts in many countries around the world, including the US and the UK this weekend.
