KISS and Motley Crue promise their joint tour will be like ”Elvis on steroids.”
The glam rock groups are staging a jaunt across the US – called ‘The Tour’ – and promise to deliver an over-the-top spectacle at their shows.
KISS bassist Gene Simmons told Rolling Stone magazine: ”You will scream your head off until it’s no longer on your shoulder and then you’ll feel great.”
The band’s guitarist, Paul Stanley, added: ”I want people to hope for the legend that they’ve heard about and find out it’s greater than that. I think that the longer we’re around the more invincible we become.”
Motely Crue have been together for over 30 years, while KISS have been playing for almost 40, but the former’s Nikki Sixx hopes they can still inspire the younger generation of budding rock stars.
He said: ”What I would like to see people take away from it is that if you actually practice your instrument and writing songs and put a hundred percent into your show, then this is what happens – you have a long career and you get to go out and do the real deal.”
The Tour will see both bands play for 90 minutes a night, with KISS closing each show. The tour stars on July 20th in Virginia.
