Kings of Leon have reassured fans they are not breaking up after cancelling their US tour.

The ‘Sex is on Fire’ rockers pulled out of all scheduled US dates after frontman Caleb Followill brought an early end to the band’s show in Texas last Friday (29.07.11), complaining of throat problems.

His brother, bass player Jared, subsequently tweeted there are “internal sicknesses & problems that have needed to be addressed (sic),” but they have reassured fans they will not split.

Drummer Nathan Followill tweeted: “Bummed about the tour not happening. So sorry 4 all the fans. We just need some rest. Thanks 4 understanding. WE ARE NOT BREAKING UP (sic)!”

It appears things weren’t quite as clear to Jared, however, who tweeted: “Utterly depressed. It’s completely out of my hands. Family has to come 1st. If bass solos & backing vocals were more popular, I’d be there (sic).

“Thanks to all my friends, family, & fans. I’m not going to stop working. I’m going to spend time writing songs and looking to the future (sic).”

However, a few minutes later he added: “Don’t jump to conclusions guys. We’re not breaking up. BRB. Just got a text from Nathan….. Ummm…. Eesh. So about what I just said… Kidding! Kidding! Not breaking up (sic).”

He then added a video of him hitting a punch bag, with a caption which read: “They told me the news about the tour in the gym today. This is how I felt (sic).”

When asked about how he was feeling yesterday (01.08.11), Caleb told website TMZ: “I’m just trying to get better.”

When asked how he planned to heal his voice, he jokingly added:” I’ll try not to do interviews.”

The band – completed by guitarist Matthew Followill, cousin to the other three, who are brothers – have rescheduled dates in Texas, and are expected to offer refunds for other shows, and restart their touring schedule in Canada on September 28th.
