Kanye West leads the Grammy Awards 2012 nominations with seven nods.

The rapper’s single ‘All of the Lights’ is up for Song Of The Year, Best Rap/Sung Collaboration and Best Rap Song, while his track ‘Otis’ – with Jay-Z – picks up two nods in the Best Rap Performance and Best Rap Song categories.

Kanye – who has picked up 14 trophies at the annual US music awards since 2005 – also has two nominations in the Best Rap Album category, for his ‘My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy’ record and his ‘Watch the Throne’ collaboration, a joint project with Jay-Z.

Adele and Foo Fighters follow with six nominations each, with the former picking up nods in some of the night’s biggest categories, including Record Of The Year and Song of the Year for single ‘Rolling in the Deep’ and Album Of The Year for ’21’.

Foo Fighters are nominated for Album Of The Year and Best Rock Album for ‘Wasting Light’, Best Rock Performance for single ‘Walk’ and Best Hard Rock/Metal Performance, for ‘White Limo’.

Bruno Mars’ single ‘Grenade’ picked up three nominations, for Record Of The Year, Song Of The Year and Best Pop Solo Performance, while his ‘Doo-Wops & Hooligans’ album is up for Album Of The Year and Best Pop Vocal Album.

Rapper Lil Wayne also has five nominations, while indie-folk act Bon Iver earned four, including nods in two major categories, Record of the Year and Song of the Year for his single ‘Holocene’.

Surprises of the nominations include a relatively low number of nods for two of the biggest selling artists of the year, Lady Gaga and Taylor Swift, who released their ‘Born This Way’ and ‘Speak Now’ albums respectively, but gained only three nominations each.

The 54th Annual Grammy Awards will take place at the Nokia Theatre in Los Angeles on February 12th 2012.
