James Morrison has joked he wants to make “the worst song ever” with Chris Martin.

The BRIT Award-winning singer/songwriter would love to collaborate with the Coldplay star so that people can tell them apart, but he doesn’t hold out much hope for the success of a possible track.

Speaking before his Priceless London from MasterCard gig at London’s Under the Bridge nightspot last night (11.11.11), he quipped to BANG Showbiz: “It would be funny if me and Chris Martin wrote a song because then people would know that we’re two different people.

“It would probably be the worst song ever though. Two annoying people working together would not be good.

“I like to write songs that are positive but sad songs are usually stronger.”

During the show, the 27-year-old star wowed the crowd by opening with ‘Beautiful Life’ before launching into new track ‘In My Dreams’.

He stunned onlookers with emotional performances of ‘Up’ and ‘Broken Strings’ – which usually feature Jessie J and Nelly Furtado respectively, but they were unable to attend – before finishing his main set with UK top five hit ‘You Give Me Something’.

Despite being unwell earlier in the week, James returned to the stage for an encore, which saw him sign off with ‘Wonderful World’, the second single from his debut album ‘Undiscovered’.
