Garbage have named their new album ‘Not Your Kind Of People’.
The ‘Stupid Girl’ band’s new record is their first since 2005’s ‘Bleed Like Me’ and will be released on their own label, Stunvolume, on May 15.
The band – made up of Shirley Manson, Duke Erikson, Steve Marker and Butch Vig – went on hiatus in 2005 but started working together again in 2010, resulting in the new record.
Guitarist Duke said in a statement: ”Working with Garbage again was very instinctual, like getting on a bicycle – with three other people.
”We haven’t felt this good about a Garbage record since the last one!”
The band – who cancelled European tour dates in 2005 saying they had ”somewhat overextended themselves” – are also set to go back on the road and play at festivals over the summer in Germany and Scandinavia.
Vocalist Shirley said: ”Thinking about going back on the road is both thrilling and terrifying in equal measure, but we’ve always enjoyed a little pain mixed in with our pleasure.”
