Emeli Sande wants to be introduced to Simon Cowell before she writes any more songs for his artists.
The singer-songwriter – who is the recipient of this year’s BRITs Critics’ Choice winner – has already penned hits for some of Simon’s biggest acts including Leona Lewis, Cher Lloyd and Susan Boyle but is yet to meet the man himself.
She said: ”I’m going to try and do something for Simon. But I still have to meet him. We haven’t actually been in the same room. I’ve only ever been approached through his people so it would be good to say hello.
”But if I get the time to write for his projects I’d love to.”
Emeli, 24, is also working with Alicia Keys and says she’s really pleased with the music they have produced so far.
She told the Daily Star newspaper: ”We’re writing for her next album and I go back to the US at the end of the month to join her again.
”There’s one song that we wrote together called ‘Hope’, which is on my album, too. It’s fantastic.”
