Cher will duet with Lady Gaga on her new album.

‘Born This Way’ singer Gaga donated a track she wrote, ‘The Greatest Thing’, to the 65-year-old diva for her forthcoming comeback album – her 26th studio record – and has now been confirmed to record it as a duet.

An excited Cher tweeted: “Can’t wait till GaGa puts her Voice on ‘The Greatest Thing’ SHE WILL ROCK IT SO F***ING HARD (sic)!”

Meanwhile Gaga has opened up about how she wrote her epic song ‘The Edge of Glory’ in tribute to her dying grandfather, after visiting him in hospital just before he passed away.

She told US radio DJ Howard Stern: “My grandpa was dying and I was heartbroken.

“The only two times he moved was to squeeze mine and my grandma’s hands.

“My dad and I sat at the piano doing shots of tequila and I said to him, ‘Grandpa’s about to pass into his moment of glory. He’s on the edge’.

“He just said, ‘That’s it kid’. I recorded it that day and I took it in and played it to my grandad. I know he heard it.”
