Calvin Harris insists he is no longer a frontman.
The ‘Ready For The Weekend’ hitmaker – who has replaced Duran Duran as a headline act at the 2011 Virgin Media V Festival – admits he prefers producing and DJ-ing on his tracks to singing.
He told BBC Radio 1: “It’s been too much. I’m a producer, I make the songs, I can’t stress that enough. I’m the guy that writes them, makes them and mixes them.
“No-one really does that but that’s what I’m good at it.”
Despite not being keen on being a frontman, the 27-year-old star will always love performing live.
Speaking about replacing 80s hitmakers Duran Duran, Calvin said: “I can’t wait to perform at V Festival – the crowds are always amazing in both Chelmsford and Stafford. It’s going to be a lot of fun.”
Elsewhere, the likes of Mistajam, DJ Fresh and Danny Byrd have been confirmed to play on the Strongbow Stage at the UK music event.
Mistajam said: “After some amazing experiences at Glastonbury, Isle of Wight and Parklife festivals, I’m really looking forward to making my V Festival debut this year at both Stafford and Chelmsford.
“Here’s hoping the weather holds out and the crowd are ready to bounce!”
This year’s Virgin Media V Festival takes place on August 20 and August 21 at Hylands Park, Essex, and Weston Park, Staffordshire.
