Beady Eye rule out Oasis tracks

Beady Eye won't be playing any Oasis tracks when they play live.

The group - made up of Liam Gallagher and his ex-Oasis bandmates Gem Archer, Andy Bell and Chris Sharrock - announced a string of UK shows next year, but Gem insists fans won't hear songs from their old band as they're all focusing on the new group.

He said: "We're just buzzing about this band and looking forward to the album coming out and getting out on the road. And there'll be no Oasis songs, either, if you were going to ask."

While Liam's brother Noel Gallagher - who walked out of Oasis in August 2009 after a blazing row with his sibling - isn't part of the new group, Gem insists he is still on good terms with him.

He added to Q Magazine: "Noel texted me just an hour ago, in fact. He made his decision and we made ours, and he knows that this is now what we're going to do.

"Do I think Oasis will reform in a few years? Give us a chance, man, no one's thinking that far ahead."

The group's new album was produced by Steve Lillywhite - who has previously recorded The Rolling Stones - and Gem says he added a great deal to the sound.

He said: "What did Steve Lillywhite bring to the studio? Liam would probably say his iPad, but he was a ball of energy and made us focus and work really quickly. It was that vibe again of trying to create a proper debut album - and that's exactly what I think we've done. It sounds exciting."
