'To Kill A Mockingbird' author Harper Lee dead at 89
The Pultizer Prize winner passed away Friday morning.
A chapter in literary history has closed: The Pulitzer Prize winning author of ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ (and we’re going to guess one your favourite writers ever) has died at age 89.
Harper Lee died peacefully in the tiny Alabama town of Monroeville where she was born, bred and lived most of her life, and which inspired the town she immortalised in her famous novel.
Harper’s death at 89 comes just a few months after ‘Go Set A Watchman’, a sequel of sorts to her beloved (and for a long time, only) novel was published.
It feels like the only way to end this—and properly salute Harper—is to conlcude with out favourite Atticus Finch quote:
“You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view… Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”
