Reese Witherspoon has just been cast as Tinkerbell!
Of course the sassy actress is going to play the lead in a new Peter Pan spin off called Tink.
It’s one of those casting choices that just seems to bleedingly obvious once you hear it: Of course, Reese Witherspoon is going to play Tinkerbell. Are you sure this isn’t a threequel of some kind, because surely she should have been reprising this perfect role for years?
This news actually gets even better: Not only is Reese playing the titular fairy in Peter Pan spin-off Tink, she’s also going to be producing the film due out in 2016. Given her newly established fashion credentials (see: the feminine frocks from her clothing line Draper James) it wouldn’t surprise us if she’s doing the costume design too. And definitely all her own stunts.
And a final fun fact: This is the second live action take on the Neverland mythology this year, the other being the Amanda Seyfriend featuring Pan, out this fall.
