Sad news for Meghan Markle. Her dad, Thomas Markle, will not be walking her down the aisle this weekend after all. It was officially confirmed that her father would be missing the royal wedding after having heart surgery yesterday.
Meghan revealed the news herself this morning via a personal statement. "Sadly, my father will not be attending our wedding. I have always cared for my father and hope he can be given the space he needs to focus on his health," it reads.
The news comes after days of speculation. Earlier this week, Markle told TMZ he was reconsidering attending the wedding after suffering a heart attack. He also admitted to staging paparazzi photos of himself during the last few weeks.
Despite the concern for her dad's health, Meghan is ready to finally marry Prince Harry. "I would like to thank everyone who has offered generous messages of support. Please know how much Harry and I look forward to sharing our special day with you on Saturday," the statement continues.
As for who will be walking the bride down the aisle? That has yet to be confirmed.
