ELLE asked a top Toronto DJ to select 11 songs for 11 nights of TIFF madness.

Welcome to ELLECanada.com’s official TIFF journal! This festival, Laura deCarufel and Jennifer Lee, the co-editors of
, have the high honour of reporting from TIFF’s coolest events. Stay tuned for party coverage, red carpet style, and behind-the-scenes scoop!
At this point in the festival—five days left!—even the most dedicated cinephile and partygoer could be forgiven for looking longingly at the couch, instead of at the cocktail list at the Four Seasons. We have just the thing to put the bounce back in your step! Odario Williams, a DJ and member of
, is spending TIFF spinning up to three parties a night. Highlights of his dance card so far? The Aveda/FILLER party for
Julia's E yes
(the Guillermo del Toro-produced Spanish film), and the
party at Buca, in which Bill Murray got up to shake it on the dancefloor. (Read on to find out which track got him into the groove.) And the playlist begins...
"In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida" by the
INCREDIBLE BONGO BAND
"A perfect party starter for any occasion. The Incredible Bongo Band's bongo solos and guitars are infectious and funky." ___________________________________________________________
"I'm a big fan of the classic throwback tune. Monae's flow channels a young James Brown over a groove that makes you want to cut-a-rug or shake a tail-feather." ___________________________________________________________
"What's Going On" (Beatnick & K-Salaam Remix) by
My favourite voice in music, period. I'll always find a way to include Marvin into my DJ mixes. This remix is sure to put one nation under a groove." ___________________________________________________________
"Valerie" (Mark Ronson version) by
"Say what you want about Amy Winehouse. When her extremely soulful voice channels through the speakers you easily forget your problems...and hers." ___________________________________________________________
Out go the Black Eyed Peas, in comes Usher (once again). This is arguably the summer song of 2010. Not only did 'OMG' fill up a dance floor instantaneously, it even had Bill Murray tapping his feet and bobbing his head to this catchy beat."
The next six tracks are after the jump!
"Set Me On Fire" by
"This track is only used for the deepest darkest moments of the week. It's strictly for the night crawlers that refuse to retire after the initial party and want to turn it up a notch during the next." ___________________________________________________________
"Sugar On My Tongue" by
"Not all parties have dance floors or are conducive to dancing. This is a great tune for those that want to party without busting a sweat. It's funky, raw and sexy." ___________________________________________________________
"Crazy You" by
"I've had the joy of spinning a rooftop party under the setting summer sun. This cover of Prince's early classic is the perfect soundtrack to that." ___________________________________________________________
"It's Only A Paper Moon" by
"I love a good cocktail party. And there is nothing better than some classic jazz to accompany those short few hours in the outfit you've waited all week to wear." ___________________________________________________________
"I've been addicted to Big Boi's space funk filled album all summer. I dance around to it as I'm getting dressed before I head out the door. It sets my mood right." ___________________________________________________________
"I Want You Back" (
Z-Trip Remix) by JACKSON 5
"The perfect sing-a-long song once everyone has taken advantage of the open bar. Even though it's a remix, you'll still find yourself humming the tune hours after you've left the party." [caption id="attachment_2103" align="alignnone" width="500" caption="Odario Williams on the tables."]
