Given this whole "Augtober" weather thing, it somehow doesn't surprise us that we're already putting the final polish on our October edition. That doesn't mean we weren't seriously jonesing for our end-of-production-cycle sugar fix...and very grateful when The Rolling Pin answered our (feeble, plaintive) cries for treats!
The Rolling Pin is a Toronto bakery that prides itself on making everything itself from scratch and fresh each day. We can attest to that—the doughnuts that crossed our desks at 10 am (don't judge!) were still warm, and filled our office with the most wonderful aroma. Other stand-outs included the butter tarts with a perfect raisin-to-treacle ratio, and seriously addictive chocolate chip cookie bars. For our gluten-free friends, there were macarons, which were almost too pretty too eat (but not quite).
