TIFF’s most highly anticipated films, sat down to talk about the film with journalists at the film’s official press conference. Unfortunately the woman everyone wanted to talk to most, Meryl Streep, was absent due to illness (although Julia Roberts joked she was just sleeping in). Roberts said the film was the most challenging project she’s ever taken on. “We worked our asses off because there was no other way to do it. I’ve never worked so hard in my life and I have given birth to three children. It was like a mountain to climb every single day and the only way to climb it, we discovered, was holding hands whether we liked it or not.” Go behind-the-scenes with Sabrina after the jump... Hotel accommodations were hard to come by so they found these newly finished condos and everybody was right next door to each other and running into each other every day. We’d have potluck dinners – primarily people would bring things over to Meryl’s apartment. She was a sweetheart,” said Chris Cooper. He wasn’t the only one with high praise for Streep. “To work with Meryl Streep is a dream come true for anyone,” said Roberts. “To be in these scenes with her and choking her was not how I pictured it going in my mind all these years. I thought we’d be together and having tea and speaking in fabulous accents and dressed up, looking very chic. And there we were, and I’m sweating and had on this big butt pad.” Parties: The cast of Kill Your Darlings gathered at C Lounge for the film’s after party, which ran late into the night. Daniel Radcliffe and girlfriend Erin Drake, who he met on set, showed some serious PDA, passionately making out on one of the couches by the end of the night. Michael C. Hall was also present with his book editor girlfriend Morgan MacGregor, who’s originally from Toronto. Hall praised the film festival, but admitted journalists constantly asking stars about how much they like Toronto can be “kind of annoying” and “is a very Canadian thing.” At one point, Hall, who enjoyed more than a few Coors Lights, spilled a good portion of a bottle on Radcliffe and a woman he was talking to. “He just spilled his drink on Harry Potter!” gasped a half-horrified and half-bemused bystander. TTC chair Karen Stintz was also at the bash and was spotted chatting up Radcliffe, but he turned her down when she asked for a photo with him. Director John Krokidas stripped down to his boxers and spent some time in the pool with another male party guest, prompting Radcliffe to worry that Krokidas’ boyfriend would find out and get angry. To his relief, the director didn’t seem to do anything infidelious, but did sport a towel in place of his pants for the rest of the night.
