The vibe: We all know that the Hazelton Hotel is know to be luxe (it’s a TIFF fave for celebrities), and the spa has that same luxurious, A-list feeling. It’s a quiet escape from the streets of Yorkville and the treatments are pretty swanky, too. Especially if you book yourself in for an ultra-rich Valmont treatment to boost your anti aging defenses.
The treatment: Two weeks before I got married, I tested out the Hazelton’s exclusive Valmont Exlir des Glaciers treatment. For those who don’t know, Valmont is the uber-rich Swiss line that carries a hefty wallet punch (think in the hundreds for a container of this incredibly rejuvenating cream), but if you can’t swing the skin care line, a Valmont spa treatment now and then can also give your skin that extra boost it might need.

I won’t lie. I was a bit worried I might have some sort of reaction to the treatment that would leave my face more red than glowing on my big day. And with my overly sensitive, reactive skin and I was made a back up plan in case I needed an immediate fix should something go awry. But, my Valmont specialist eased my mind, ensuring me that the products would soothe, moisturize and plump my skin. As soon as the products were applied to my skin (with the Valmont butterfly massage technique that helps you relax), I knew I was in for a treat. My skin soaked up the serums and creams like it was dying from thirst and with the addition of a collagen-soaked face mask, any fine lines were plumped into infinity. My skin felt soft, smooth and not the least bit irritated. And to be honest, I booked myself another appointment three days before the wedding date — confident that my skin would not only love it, but the treatment would also be the best way to relax and unwind (and it totally was!).
Price: Exlir des Glaciers treatment, $495
Bliss factor: 5 out of 5 aromatherapy oil drops (you know it’s amazing when you book the second appointment).
