Balenciaga’s recent announcement that Hollywood’s perpetually brooding starlet Kristen Stewart will front its next fragrance this fall got us thinking about the art of celeb-campaign pairings and the vibes those famous faces inevitably bring to the scents they come to embody. (No word on the fragrance notes yet, but we’re already picturing the ad campaign featuring Stewart decked out in a black fringed leather jacket to go with her trademark scowl.) Here’s a look at this season’s latest fragrance campaigns and the personalities they represent based on the famous faces that front them.
1. Personality type: The ladylike flirt
The scent: Salvatore Ferragamo Signorina
The face: Bianca Balti, Italian model
Signature notes: Blackcurrant buds, pink pepper, jasmine, rose, peony, vanilla, musk, patchouli, and pannacotta accord.
The story: The Italian designer fêtes modern feminine style with the new fragrance’s subtle, fresh scent. The cubed, pale pink crystal flacon is topped with the iconic Salvatore Ferragamo vara bow.
The look: Cheeky, yet mild mannered, la signorina is as youthful as the name Italian name distinguishes. Bubbly and light-hearted and wrapped in a cotton-candy pink bow—like the pink and gold bottle— Balti is sophisticated at home in a night slip and girly on the town, as seen in the ad campaign shot by Mikael Jansson.
What you should wear it with: A classic, airy blow out, pink chiffon dress and of course, those matching, to-die-for Ferragamo vara bow ballet flats.
