To fete its 50th anniversary, natural-skincare line Dr. Hauschka is launching a massive 80+ item makeup collection that was four years in the making. True to the brand’s ethos, all the products are formulated with ingredients primarily sourced from its biodynamic garden in Eckwälden, Germany. “Each product offers its own composition of valuable botanical waxes or oils plus extracts of stimulating medicinal plants,” explains Karim Sattar, Dr. Hauschka international makeup artist, who consulted on the line. It’s not just the quality of the botanicals—like anthyllis, a vivid-yellow flower that plays a starring role in the collection because of its ability to balance dry, oily and irritated skin—that gives the makeup its luxurious finish and feel. The manufacturing process preserves the integrity of the ingredients with the same method used to create homeopathic medicine, and the natural pigments provide colour that is vibrant but never overpowering, says Sattar. “It’s what makes Dr. Hauschka makeup special.”
