Going to a party? Let the makeup and hair from Louis Vuitton F/W '16 be your inspiration.

The star of this look is the vampy, glossy lip. "It's important to start with a lip liner as opposed to going straight in with lipstick, because it's easier to make the line more precise," says beGlammed makeup artist Bridget Powell, who used M.A.C Cosmetics Lip Liner in Vinyl, Lipstick in Sin and Lip Glass in Clear Glass. "Start lining just below the lip line and work your way in. It takes a long time to do a dark lip and this makes it mistake proof." After the lip liner, apply a layer of matte lipstick. "Even though we're going to go over it with a gloss, start with a base of matte lipstick," she explains. "It's going to last longer and it doesn't bleed." If you go too far outside the lip, you can go back in with foundation to clean up the lines. When it comes time to apply the gloss, use a lip brush to put gloss at the centre of the lip, dabbing outwards. "Most of the product is applied at the centre," says Powell. "And don't purse the lips, that's the biggest no no." (Gloss will go everywhere and take the product with it.)

How big you brush out your hair is up to you, says Justin German, consulting stylist for Pantene. To maintain the shape of the curls, he uses a rake comb. "It's a good way to get fuller volume, without breaking the curls," he explains. "Not everyone wants a fully brushed-out Diana Ross look."
