Two scoops of sadness
Eating ice cream when your heart is broken is more than just cliché. Food scientists at Cornell University have discovered that we tend to binge when we’re feeling down because our mental state can affect how things taste. Make it a habit to go to the gym
It takes 21 days to change a habit (So Beyoncé told us when she created her 22-Days vegan challenge. And we believe everything Beyoncé tells us.) But to create a habit – such as regular exercise – try establishing physical cues to prompt you to go to the gym, according to scientists at Iowa State University. These are known as instigation habits – and can be everything from setting an alarm to finishing work at 5 p.m. and having your gym bag by your desk. For example, if you don’t work out until Wednesday or Thursday, you might want to put it off until the next week. And if you’ve already put the time in, you may feel less inclined to indulge.
