Crown jewels
The look
Jewelled clips and pretty pins add polish to spring's updos-it's this return to glamour that is responsible for accessories moving north, says Ben Skervin, a
celebrity stylist for Head & Shoulders.

How to get it
“If your hair is up in a pleat or twist, you can place clips and pins in the folds of the hair,” says Skervin. “If you have a side part, you can use them to help pin the hair to the side.” To find the perfect clip, look no further than your jewellery box. “Earrings and brooches work best as hair accessories,” says Skervin. “Keep the look simple by using just one accessory and placing it far back from the hairline.”

Come undone
The look
The models at the spring 2009 Lanvin show looked like chic ballerinas. “The mood is classic, but the untidiness makes it modern,” says Marc Anthony, stylist, president and CEO of Marc Anthony Haircare.

How to get it
Blow-dry hair upside down. Once it's dry, use your fingers to comb it out and place it in a ponytail. Add a bit of shine serum to the ponytail, then gently twist it into a loose chignon and secure it with bobby pins. Finish with hairspray.
