How can we empower one another to embrace our hair texture and manifest our greatness? For influencer Destinee Wray, keeping her curls healthy is everything. “We can all agree that when our hair is just right, it allows us to show up in life feeling confident, bold and unstoppable,” she says. “I love when my hair makes a statement when I enter a room. My hair is an extension of me, and together we leave a lasting impression.”

We caught up with Destinee to learn about her own curl manifesto.

How has your hair journey shaped your identity and self-image throughout your life?

 “I see my hair as a way to express my personal growth. From the moment I decided to cut my hair and start wearing it natural, my self-image was affected. The decision I made to go against what most people consider ‘beautiful’ empowered me and has changed my life for the better.”

How do you hope to inspire others to manifest their greatness?

“My hope is to inspire others by being the most honest and authentic version of myself. To do so, I have to love every part of me, from the top of my head all the way to the soles of my feet. Through social media and conversations, I encourage my followers, family and friends to love their natural hair unapologetically.”

What is your favourite way to style your curls?

“I like to keep it simple and, for the most part, play it safe. My go-to is definitely a messy bun. It’s easy and cute!”

What’s your curly-hair routine?

“My wash routine starts with the Bain Hydratation Douceur Shampoo. Then I use Fondant Hydratation Essentielle Conditioner, which leaves my hair looking great and smelling good. After a long work day or the day after my wash day, I like to treat my hair to the second-day spray Refresh Absolu—my absolute favourite product—to bring back some moisture and definition to my curls.”
