Does this Chloé Fall 2010 hair style make you think of Charlie’s Angels? It is reminiscent of Charlie’s girls, however it’s been given a chic, modern update. “It’s a little ’70s in nature, but it’s not Farrah Fawcett because it doesn’t have the short layers,” says Tyler Colton, celebrity hairstylist. “It stays away from going too retro ’70s with the long layers, and instead of high volume on top and winging out, the volume is down below.”

Here are Tyler’s tips on how to easily recreate this Chloé Fall 2010 look:

• Apply mousse to damp hair and divide hair into sections and work each panel of hair using a big, round brush.

• Then using a one-inch curling iron, make eight big curls—“they don’t have to be perfect”—and secure them with clips.

• Let the curls set while you finish doing your makeup.

• Removed the clips and pull out the curls, running your fingers through your hair.

• Finish with a styling cream, such as OSiS Buff Light Styling Cream. Avoid using silicone drops or any finishing product that will weigh your hair down too much. “You want something that will make it a little piece-y, but nothing that’ll make it too slick and shiny—just something to give the hair a healthy texture.”

Product recommendations: If you have thicker hair, try OSiS Curl Me Soft Velvet Curl Cream (“It’ll help tame frizz,” says Tyler). Have finer locks? Try Body Me Fullifying Volume Serum or Upload Lifting Volume Cream, both also from OSiS.

Pro tip: “Hot rollers are making a comeback in a big way,” says Tyler, and you can use large hot rollers to recreate this look as well. Apply mousse to damp hair and give it a quick blow dry. Then using large hot rollers, wind them up halfway instead of all the way to your roots. “You want your hair fairly collapsed at the roots, with the volume more at the ends,” explains Tyler. Product tip: Mousse is also making a big comeback, says Tyler, and it’s great for creating soft, bouncy looks like this hairstyle. “It went away for awhile because we’ve been flat ironing and flat ironing but now we’re looking for more movement, more lift and more volume and it really helps with the fluffy feel you’re looking for.”

Salon request: “If you’re going to the salon and you want this look, I’d say to ask for ‘a fluffy blow-dry’,” says Tyler.
