Power line
"I love graphic eyes," says Angie Semple, makeup artist and Canadian education and artistry manager for Dior. This season's interpretation-as seen at Etro and Bottega Veneta-is a fresh take on '60s-style liner and just as dramatic. "It defines the eye shape right at the base of the lashes," explains Semple. Flawless skin and pink or peach lipstick ensure that the effect is more pretty than punk.

Skin
Give your skin a velvety finish with a slightly matte foundation that has luminous properties. "If your foundation is dewy, use some loose powder to mattify your forehead and chin," says Semple.

L'Oréal Paris True Match Super-Blendable Blush in Precious Peach ($13.95)

Eyes
Apply a creaseproof eyeshadow in a neutral shade across the entire eyelid. Using short strokes, line the upper and lower lashes with a waterproof eyeliner in black, charcoal, chocolate or navy. Using a damp, rounded eyeliner brush, trace the line with powder eyeshadow in the same shade, smudging it inward toward your lashes to define the shape of your eye. Complete the look with two coats of extra-black volumizing mascara.

Laura Mercier Full Faux Lashes ($20)

Brows
"This eye looks more polished with defined brows," says Semple. Use a brow pencil or a tinted brow gel that is one shade lighter than
your hair colour.

Clinique Colour Surge Eyeshadow Stay Matte in Midnight ($17.50)

Lips
Lips "This look definitely needs some colour on the lips," says Semple. A sheer, glossy lipstick in pink or peach keeps it fresh.
