Sexy and simple, red lips are all you need to make a beautiful impression on that hot date!
"A crimson lip creates instant glamour, even if the rest of your face is bare," says Joanne Black, M.A.C senior makeup artist. "This season, the classic ladylike look of the '50s gets updated by showing off a spectrum of sexy red shades."
If you have fair skin, try a sheer red lipstick with a blue undertone. For medium or olive skin, opt for a warm brick red. If your skin is dark, apply a shade of Bordeaux. To make the look modern, avoid lipliner. Instead, use a lip brush or a sponge-tip applicator. Apply colour just inside the natural lip line to ensure it stays put. To soften the intensity of any red shade, dab sheer gloss overtop. For a girlish flair, keep the rest of your makeup minimal.
