Trend of the month: Orange
Orange was Frank Sinatra's favourite shade -- he said it's a happy colour -- and, like the crooner's ballads, it's back in vogue. The citrus hue has the knack of giving a sun-kissed glow. This season's bumper crop of warm shades makes it easy to put on a happy face.

Shine on!
A stylist's trick for luxurious, colour-treated hair is a shine boost with every touch-up. But unless you're a Bergdorf Blonde, visiting the salon every fortnight is a tad high-maintenance. To the rescue: DIY shine-enhancing cleansers, styling aids and even a fragranced hair mist from Narciso Rodriguez.

What's new?
The three tomes of Quo's Beauty Library (image at left) offer a quick study in jewel-toned makeup for the eyes, cheeks and lips, $50, available at Shoppers Drug Marts across Canada.

Must-have grab
L'Oréal Paris teamed up with seven women -- among them Penélope Cruz and Milla Jovovich -- to create personalized lipsticks. The shades, suited to each woman's skin tone and personality, are as diverse as the starlets' styles.
