Bvlgari Man
- Picture 6/7
- The man: Clive Owen
The scent: Bvlgari Man, spiked with bergamot, lotus blossom and sandalwood, $66 for 60 mL, available at the Bay, Holt Renfrew, Murale, Sephora, Ogilvy.
Occupational hazard: The British actor isn’t a fan of actresses who Botox (did you hear that, Nicole?) or heavy scents. He told Esquire: “I have a problem with a lot of men’s fragrances because they are very strong. Somebody somewhere thinks that masculine means powerful smells—and I find them overbearing.” Bvlgari Man excluded, of course.

Marc Jacobs Bang
- Picture 1/7
- The man: Marc Jacobs
The scent: Marc Jacobs Bang, an intense mix of black, pink and white peppercorns, vetiver and patchouli, $69 for 50 mL, available at Holt Renfrew.
Strong suit: The American designer is one of Time’s 100 most influential people for 2010. His first men’s scent in almost a decade, Bang is expected to bring in $60 million.
Naked truth: A well-oiled Jacobs appears in the fragrance ads wearing nothing but the bottle itself. “We tried it with clothes, but it didn’t work,” the yoga devotee told Women’s Wear Daily. He’s in fine company: Yves Saint Laurent and Tom Ford have also dropped their clothes for the camera.
