Two specialty masks are applied during this treatment, to energize cells and supply skin with intense moisture, says Daphne Swenerton, Director of Spa Operations at the Trump International Hotel and Tower, Toronto. All the products used during this treatment come from the premium skin care line Luzern Cosmeceuticals. “All Luzern ingredients are cultivated at a high altitude in the Alps and are rich in anti-oxidants,” says Swenerton. “They’re all organic and free from chemicals, using oxygen to boost cellular reparations and collagen production.”

The treatment: Sonolight Facial with Added Collagen

Price: $300

Why it’s celeb-worthy: The Sonolight Facial is a non-invasive treatment designed to restore the look and feel of your skin by targeting everything from wrinkles, crow’s feet, acne scarring, sun damage and enlarged pores. The treatment utilizes products from the skincare brand Swiss Line. “Given the busy schedules of celebrities and their need for instant results, this treatment is amazing for those that need instant results from a facial since it instantly leaves the skin glowing and renewed,” says Anna Ou, a skin specialist at Toronto’s Concepts Spa & Salon. Apparently celebrities like Jessica Alba and Amanda Bynes are known to have indulged in the spa’s services in years past and the staff there is excited to see who comes through the doors this year during TIFF.

The treatment: The VIP Pre-Event Therapy Package

Why it’s celeb-worthy: The VIP Pre-Event Therapy Package offers celebs head to toe care designed to get them red carpet ready. The 3.5-hour treatment starts with a 90-minute hydrating, detoxifying facial, followed by a 75-minute slimming body wrap and is topped off with a shellac manicure. “The body treatment focuses on removing dead skin cells for a glowing complexion as well as detoxifying and slimming for a smoother silhouette,” says Maria Haggo, Spa Operations Manager at the Ritz-Carlton. “It works to reduce cellulite and water retention. It is also packed with vitamin C. The guest will be left feeling firmer, lighter and re-energized so it is the perfect treatment for jetlagged guests pre-event.”

Why it’s celeb-worthy: We all know how essential oxygen is for our lungs, but for skin, too? Infusing skin with oxygen is believed to treat skin at a cellular level, leaving it looking healthier than ever. “Our Oxygen Facial evens out skin tone, reduces shine and
gives skin a healthy glow,” says Giovanna Manchisi, Senior Manager, Spa Services at the Elmwood Spa in Toronto. It’s
the perfect facial to have before an event as it doesn’t result in any redness (common in most other facials) and makes applying make-up a breeze – goes on smooth and lasts all night.” According to Manchisi, the oxygen facial is the latest celeb craze. “Everyone from Madonna to Kate Middleton to Justin Timberlake have had this rejuvenating treatment,” she says.

The treatment: Hammam Rhassoul Wrap

Price: $130

Why it’s celeb-worthy: The Hammam Rhassoul Wrap is the Hammam Spa’s signature service so you know it has to be good. The treatment begins by candlelight in a rosemary-scented room, atop a white marble table heated to 104 degrees. OK, we’re sold! A combination of exfoliation and massage, the wrap is designed to release stress and relax muscles. “We’ve become a favourite escape to many A-list celebrities over the years, offering them a tranquil place to recharge away from media, fans and paparazzi,” says Paula Aveling, Director of Marketing for the Hammam Spa.
