Beauty enthusiasts who religiously follow fashion month already know that eyeliner is having a major moment for Fall 2014. Different riffs on the cat eye appeared all over the New York, London, Milan, and Paris runways – from floating cat eyes at Rag & Bone to fluorescent liner at Chanel. Toronto is having an eyeliner moment too. Backstage at Kaelen Fall 2014, Veronica Chu, CoverGirl Makeup Pro, revealed her own interpretation of the trend, describing the look as “not too girly, with a little bit of a graphic, almost tomboy edge.” Chu kept the overall look minimal to ensure that the bold liner – with a slightly pointed and squared off tip – took center stage. She used the eye area as a blank canvas by omitting mascara altogether in order to draw attention to the graphic line. See more pics of Kaelen's Fall 2014 beauty look after the jump...

The absence of mascara was her second nod to a major fall trend, making the whole look feel very au courant (sorry mascara lovers). To keep it modern, Chu left skin bare, covering up imperfections with a dab of concealer and applying a small amount of bronzer to give models a natural flush. Simple yet sharp, this look is perfect for the girl who “wants to look cool without looking made up.”

The same blasé attitude showed up with hair too. Justin German, Pantene Consulting Stylist, handcrafted looks to purposefully appear "a little bit undone. The designer wanted to keep the hair away from the face, without having it up and looking like a big do.” The result was a relaxed half-updo, guided by the model’s natural hair texture, to look like each girl dragged her hair back herself. With hairpins left exposed, the look seems like a cool Swedish girl might have haphazardly created it on her way to an underground concert. OVER TO YOU! Are you a fan of the bold eyeliner trend?
