Here’s something that took me by surprise during NYFW Fall 2014: glittery lids. During the backstage prep yesterday at the Altuzarra show, I wandered upon fearless makeup artist Tom Pecheux’s station only to find him tucking into some greenish gold loose glitter—the product is the soon-to-be launched M.A.C 3D Brass Gold Glitter. According to Pecheux (whose voice is so calming, I could listen to him read stock market updates every morning), we need to re-think glitter for a moment: "I really wanted to give the message of being playful but in a modern way. When you think of glitter, you think disco queen. But glitter isn’t disco queen. No, we treat it very simply. No mascara, no contour. I’m doing the opposite of what people think when they hear glitter. No mascara, no eyebrows." So there you have it. Wear glitter with nothing else. Are you into it?
