Montreal Fashion Week: Backstage beauty, Day 2

Micalla's sparkling baubles for Fall 2011 were complemented by mega-blinged out lips and glamorous hair, while at Annie 50, a chic woman travelling on the transiberian railway served as the inspiration.
Micalla's retro-sexy waves
For these luscious waves, you want the roots to be flat so using a large curling iron, curl your pieces outwards rather than inwards (ie. the piece you are curling should start from underneath the curling rod). "Also, curl no more than 14 pieces, or else the look will be curly rather than wavy,' says Denis Binet, creative director for hair at Montreal Fashion Week. Make sure to spray each piece with hairspray and then hold the curling iron (on its highest heat setting) to heat each piece for 20 seconds.
And, just in case you're looking to bedazzle your pout, the crystals were carefully affixed into place using false-eyelashes glue.
Annie 50's Russian-doll beauty
The emphasis at Annie 50? A bright pink-red lip, achieved by slicking on Cover Girl Lip Perfection Lipstick in 305 Hot Passion over Lip Perfection Liner in 215 Red Passion. "This is a good, fresh shade for playing up nice, white teeth," says Amélie Ducharme, artistic director for makeup at MFW and Cover Girl makeup pro. And to further add to the Russian doll look, she skipped contouring the face and simply swept on the pinky centre shade from Cover Girl Tru Cheeks Palette 1 in a round shape to the top of the apples of the cheeks. Is this a look you would wear? Or do you prefer the bold smoky eyes we saw yesterday?
