The fashions are colourful and the patterns are rich and wild, but the hair in Milan is pretty minimal. The master behind this effortlessly chic look is
Guido Palau. For Alberta Ferretti, he created what he described as “hippie hair you’d see on an Ibiza kind of girl.” He made the centre part using his fingers and then applied a curling iron to create some loose movement. A spritz of Redken Fashion Waves was added to put some kink in the hair and add a sun-kissed dry texture. “It’s a slight flatness, like you’ve been in the sun all season,” he explained. “It’s not about shine, and it’s not about being too complicated. Easy hair is what feels very modern.” At Roberto Cavalli, it was a similar story: simple and naturally blown with a touch of Redken Satinwear. The hair was gently messed up “to give it some personality,” he said. At Jil Sander, the look was a little more boyish with its side part but still created the impression of a woman who is living in the moment.
Not all the hair was minimal. What braid is making its own beauty waves…
