And since it’s the festive season and we’ll definitely all be pulling out our best mascara for coats of thick, lush lashes, we decided to hit our Facebook fans up for some of their best tips and biggest don’ts. So get your wands ready for the perfect fluttering of lashes this holiday season! By the way, I adore the above image of the dramatic falsies at Louis Vuitton's spring/summer 2012 collection. Aren't they just divine? What are your biggest mascara dos and don'ts? Dana Zickar Lajeunesse Do wiggle that brush right into your lash roots, and don't forget to get the finer hairs on your inner corner (or your eye). Katelyn Blakeney Waterproof. Always. Deborah Howard Patrick DO take a cotton swab and dab any smudges off underneath the lower lashes when you're done...and DON'T put so many coats on that it looks like tar has been applied. Amanda Popko Primer helps so much! Waterproof is such a pain to get off and you can damage your sensitive eye area trying to take it off -- save it for special occasions only. ;) Peter Galvin Instead of buying one of those expensive vibrating mascara brushes, shake your head while you apply it, and get the same results! Veronique Masse Cover Girl Lash Blast Volume. :) Jordan Paul The classic pink and green tube (Maybelline’s Great Lash) is the way to go for me and a lot of makeup artists I know. Also, when you first open a tube, let some air get into it (it can be a bit thin until you do that). After that first time though, always close that lid tightly! Roxanne Samuels Let your lashes dry a bit between coats. Rhonda Hoffman Sorochan Don't pump the brush in and out of the mascara a bunch of times, it adds too much air that subsequently dries the mascara out prematurely. Carly Flint Always use a lash curler to get the best results with your mascara. Wiggle back and forth from Root to tip! Danielle Mattie DONT add water to the tube when you’re running low... big mistake. It just gets every where, what a mess! Stacie Anne Tasker I always apply one layer to top and bottom, and then do a second coat on the outer upper lashes. That way, my outer lashes look longer and thicker, my eyes look wider, too (almost like I am wearing false lashes)! :) What are your biggest mascara dos and don'ts?
